Thank you for visiting the Carmon Imaging website. Please take some time to look around. This site is the result of a lifelong romance with photography. That romance with photography began when I took photographs of my friends. (I had them pose for me and probably exhausted them.) When the Air Force sent me to Japan for three years, I met a gentleman who taught and mentored me in darkroom work. I worked for a major national studio for several years, and continued to study photography. I continued my study at Winona Professional Photography School and graduated in Commercial Photography in1993.
I began photographing babies in their homes. I gradually photographed more families, which led to photographing Church Directories. Later at the request of a friend. I photographed my first wedding. From that moment I knew what defined me. I opened our Bowling Green studio about 50 miles north of Nashville, Tennessee in 1975. About five years later, I opened my second studio in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, which is 45 miles south of Louisville. My daughter joined our portrait studio in 1991. Mary-John is loved and admired by families, children, and seniors alike. It has become her passion also. She grew up working in the studio. Later her husband Brian, joined our force in 2006 and has become invaluable in retouching and enhancing the portraits. Our passion for photographing people is still the driving force behind my life and business. Photography is not simply a career for us. There is nothing more fulfilling than being able to capture someone's true essence, and record it forever. The thought that a fraction of a second will endure forever is what I love most. It is a great honor to be invited to photograph the important moments in life: To photograph a 25th or 50th Wedding Anniversary and share in the moments of their twilight years as I see the love that has weathered many storms along with moments of happiness. To photograph a high school senior as he or she begins to make a mark in life; then again, years later, to have him/her trust us to capture their wedding day and record it for generations to come. As they continue life and begin a family we create beautiful maternity portraits, mother and child portraits, baby portraits, and family portraits. It is an awesome task to capture people as they really are, so these images can be shared with generations to come. So these generations may not only be remembered, but also relived.
